It’s unfortunate when family members shoot each other.  All I’ve been hearing in the news about this is that a 17 year boy dialed 911 to report that his grandmother shot him in the chest.
I’ve got a feeling that we’re gonna find out that this kid was a pretty scary dude.  Probably doing lots of drugs and threatening his grandma for money to buy them.  I’m thinking that this woman will not do much time, if any at all, for this.
I’ve not heard anything about this case except that the parents are divorced and moved away and the kid was staying at his grandma’s so that he could finish school before going to join one of his parents.
Only time will tell, but I wanted to get this post up before I heard any more about it.  I’m hoping to have a “I told ya so” moment here.
I think this woman was probably intimidated and threatened and felt that she had nowhere to go.  She was trapped by a thug in her own home and didn’t feel she could kick him out because of what he might do to her.  I’m guessing that he’s been stealing from her and doing what he pleases affording her no authority over him what so ever.  He and his thug friends occupy the house and treat her as if she where the intruder.  I think we will find that the woman’s house looks like a frat house – a filthy mess from this kid and his friends partying with no regard for what is left of her possessions.  I am willing to bet that the autopsy will show that the kid had narcotics in his system when he was shot.  Which leads me to believe that he was being particularly threatening to her at the time of the shooting.
With that said, I will wait to see how all of this pans out and post on this thread my “I told ya so” or, less likely, my “Awe crap… I was wrong, the lady was a psycho, poor kid”.
